Dont forget to:
1. think about the goal you want to reach with the help of the designer. Think visual UI, UX flow, conversion, app, web, etc
2. Become clear if you want somebody remote or on site, freelance or fulltime.
3. Start looking for your ideal candidate trough
- your social reach (people who like what you are doing already)
- your network (2nd and 3rd level connections on linked in)
- go profile hunting on designer pages like Dribble, behance 99Designs, etc. to find a style "you like" if it is about visual design
- approach them, duh ;-)
Hope that helps?!
PS: I am currently writing a how to guide to find and hire UX Designers [1]. If you want to see the draft and give feedback just send me an email (see profile)
