Maybe it's because I am an introvert, but I have a simple question for estimating the success of any development: "Does this product reduce the number of social interactions I have to have? Does it let me do something without interacting with another individual?" Chatbots, because developers keep trying to make them more "human", fail the second part of the question. They "feel" like talking to a person at times, which is something I don't want. I'll just tap a few buttons instead.
