Many years ago while backpacking around Japan, my wife and I started playing the claw machines every time we were waiting for trains or buses. We ended up getting "the knack" and would win things pretty regularly. One night we went to go camping. While waiting for the bus we realized we didn't have a torch, and there were no shops around. Luckily at the bus depot there was a claw machine that had a combination clock/torch/radio... and our claw machine skills actually paid off!
