Everyone is in legal jeopardy if they speak freely with Federal agents. It's a one-side exchange where they are allowed lie to you to extract information, but you go to prison if a statement that you make could be construed as a lie. I'm a big proponent of exercising your 4th, 5th and 6th amendment rights to the fullest. Maybe he did something wrong, maybe he didn't. However, asking for immunity seems like a smart move either way.
