As much fun as it is to pile on Uber these days these are employee resource groups, created by and run by the employees. I've had these at lots of places I've worked, for women, LGBTQ, etc and they're mainly a mailing list, maybe a slack room these days, and maybe a monthly meeting/meetup. This is not some huge corporate racist conspiracy.
