I suspect the reasoning from the algorithm would be a lot more specific than from a doctor given the same information. People don't have deep understanding of their reasoning process and (necessarily) make a lot of decisions based on a hunch. An algorithm would be able to tell you confidence ratings for multiple conditions and reasoning behind which treatment was prescribed or what additional tests were required.
I still feel that this is a tool that should be used by Doctors (rather than to replace them) as the reports will likely contain more detail than a layman would understand.
