Do you think that free-trade economics represents the perfection of economic thinking? My point is: these stark choices that you and others are presenting are the artifacts of an economic dogma. That dogma shouldn't be confused with the truth and blind us to better ways of thinking. Perhaps getting the most goods for the least money-cost is not in fact the best deal? Perhaps there are other things that should be attended to, even if they're not packaged neatly in a compact ideological framework.
