We need a new term for anaesthetic acupuncture which distinguishes it from the much broader benefits claimed by acupuncture advocates. Anaesthetic acupuncture is physiologically plausible and supported by experiment. But any headline about it gets generalized to "acupuncture works" which is misleading.
