I believe age-based discrimination can happen to anyone of any age. The government does not: https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/age.cfm https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/age.cfm I am a younger adult performing IT functions. Because of my age, some authority figures don't expect me to know how to perform complex tasks with greater responsibility. Often those tasks are given to older folks who (in my view) don't have the experience. It goes both ways - I'm not saying any of it is right/fair/karma.
