I had a recruiter at an agency in SF tell me how my resume should look for a "candidate my age" and sent me a resume of an older candidate so that I could follow the format. The bay area is the worst for age discrimination. It's the subtle bias I find disturbing. I know a lot of awesome software engineers who are over 40.
