By default angular-cli produces source maps in dev mode. These work transparently when viewing source and using breakpoints in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera. Just install @angular/cli create a project and a few components and check it out: https://github.com/angular/angular-cli https://github.com/angular/angular-cli
