I would shorten it to:

- force yourself to understand (avoid cargo cult)
- accumulate non-redundant experience
- alextheparrot 10y agoAt this risk of sounding like a Buzzfeed headline, number 3 has been key for me. Diving into a new "whatever" and asking how and why it does something makes it so much easier to "get" something. Bottom up vs top-down approach.
