That's a result of having the marketing department as the ones who interact with the public. Pretty much every industry has this problem. To get at the truth you have to find some enthusiast website and find someone there who has done enough digging to find the real technical information and specs. Speaking of LED TVs, the next one is QDLED TVs where again it is still an LCD TV but the backlight is now improved with Quantum Dots. Confused the heck out of the public who are looking/waiting for a true Quantum Dot display.
