I don't exactly have the surface book, I have the surface pro 3, but I'm able to dual boot with Xubuntu and Mint without too much trouble. Of course, it wouldn't be Linux if wifi wasn't tricky to set up, but touch works, Bluetooth works, the detachable keyboard also works.
