Don't make the mistake I made: host different content on www.gitlab.com (static site) than GitLab.com (application). People expect them to be the same. Ended up moving the static site to about.GitLab.com
- warent 10y agoOh my I always have my www.* domains alas to the site without the www. by default. While you assumed people will almost always think they're different, I'm assuming people will almost always think they're the same. I wonder how many people get frustrated by being redirected from the www to it's naked counterpart before spamming refresh and leaving in defeated frustration... Uh oh
- sytse 10y agoYeah, big mistake on my part. I don't understand why you're mentioning a redirect, that was not something we were doing.
