I read that same passage and wondered who was paying attention to the kids? Great, Dad's got some buddies who will lay down some cover while he changes a diaper. What's the kid get out of that deal?
- wavefunction 10y agoA clean nappie, but that's the bare minimum a child should expect from a parent. Guy should be interacting with his kid instead of playing some stupid bs video game.
- flukus 10y agoNot a rash, that's what the kids gets. Edit - And yes, that's a big step for a lot of kids with alcoholic parents.
- Endy 10y agoWhat's the kid entitled to? He has a father. He gets a clean diaper when he needs it, and likely extra attention. Compared to some of the kids of single moms I knew where video game protagonists WERE their father figure, the kid has it good.
- karmajunkie 10y agoAre you serious? The bar for being a not-shitty parent is not an alcoholic. Every child is entitled to a caretaker that is paying attention to them. The fact that some children don't get that does not mean they aren't entitled to it.
