Thanks! You make some interesting points... I think bias is unavoidable in these things. All I can try to do is steer the website in the direction I think is right and let the users take over the rest! Forking a submission would currently have to be done by forking the Gist and re-submitting a new item. GitHub currently doesn't have a way to fork Gists via their API.
