Hey, if CPU is abundant and memory is limited, why not?

  Because it's likely that the size of the index into pi is larger than the data itself.

    Good point. Actually, that brings up an interesting question: what is the mathematical relationship between the size of the input and expected offset?

      Probably not a good one the more you increase your data size
