- nwah1 10y agoRemoving height restrictions isn't the only way to increase density. Improving efficiency of land use can be accomplished by eliminating idle and under-productive use, through the tax policy recommended in the article (land value tax).
- choward 10y agoBecause they haven't thought of that and have done zero research on it, so they just build buildings like they did a century ago, right?
- flyingfences 10y agoThe Japanese architects have figured out how to do exactly that. Japan experiences earthquake after earthquake, but Japanese cities are full of skyscrapers and I haven't heard of any of those having any catastrophic issues of the sort that you seem to be implying.
