I already carry a wallet, why would I want a coin purse as well? An empty purse would take up more space in my pocket than a dozen dollar bills in my wallet. I've occasionally got coins in my pocket because I receive them as change, but they go in my car's ashtray or a box of coins I've got at home, whichever I reach first. Every couple of years, I take them to a coin machine and take a couple % hit for the machine's surcharge. More, higher-value coins = more waste, both of space, and in terms of returning them to a valuable form.
