With airlines pissing so many people off you'd think the trains would be catering to customers.
Instead, they are just using the excuse to be frustrating and expensive. Take Amtrak from NYC (Penn Station) to D.C. and you'll understand the lost opportunity.
It's only a tiny bit better, and a tiny bit cheaper.
(I commute from CT to NYC on Metro-North and have the same
problem with them. In 5 years, my Metro-North monthly has gone up $200 and ride times are 50% longer.)
