The Ubuntu names are chronologically in alphabetical order.
- DashRattlesnake 10y agoThat doesn't really make it any better. Eclipse does the same thing (well they have since they ran out of Galilean moons), and I always end up needing to consult a chart to parse its version scheme: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_(software)#Releases https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_(software)#Releases We already have a well developed and widely understood system for naming items in a sequence, it's called "numbers." I suggest people stop trying to be clever and use it.
