- lobster_johnson 10y agoCloud SQL is Google's counterpart to RDS. They support both Postgres and MySQL. From what I've heard, Google is running a vanilla version of Postgres. They don't offer any features beyond what mainline Postgres provides (unlike AWS Aurora, which runs modified versions versions of MySQL and Postgres).

As a general thought, it's probably be a good idea to wait (say) 6 months until this new Cloud SQL for PG offering has matured + their team has more PG experience. Places often contribute back to upstream projects as they get more involved in relevant Community, and it sounds like they're just starting out now.
