I despair for the state of discourse when even your extremely measured comment gets down voted without anyone offering a counter argument.
- dragonwriter 10y agoI'm going to break my policy of avoiding commenting on downvotes, especially of my own posts, just to say that my experience is that discussions that touch on currently hot political issues see an unusually high volume of voting activity, and I wouldn't read a lot about the level of discourse from a comment that tocuhes on those kinds of issues getting a few early dowbvotes, even if you view them as unfair downvotes. (Now, if comments get unfairly buried and stay that way, that's a cause for concern.)
