YAGNI. Not being an abstraction freak. Not implementing hundreds of features in the hope that they may be useful one day. I have been going through the code of a well-known document database... I am horrified to discover over 400 classes in their abstractions project, including some very clever stuff, which I then try to find examples of in the rest of the code, only to come up with nothing.
