I've done a similar-but-not-so-elaborate analysis a while ago with a large variety of compression algorithms: https://github.com/mavam/compbench https://github.com/mavam/compbench. Only two input types: text logs and network traces. My conclusion was the same: Zstandard has the best space-time tradeoff.
