- flukus 10y agoEarly heads up on an imminent recession maybe?
- gpresot 10y agoMore likely it would be a lagging indicator, rather than a leading one. Companies will close plants and offices with same delay on the onset of a recession (itself defined formally as two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth).
- matt_s 10y agoYou're really only going to see large publicly traded companies reporting that way, and by that measure all those numbers are small in comparison to the size of those companies. Sucks for people getting the boot but I wouldn't think there is any indicator there. Those types of companies lay off people every year.
