Sales? You mean marketing/branding and users don't you? Is this an ecommerce site or a web app? It's very hard to advise when we don't know what your revenue model is... Is it an ad rev or freemium web app or are you selling tires online for example? If you clarify just a little the advice will be orders of magnitude better.. My gut says your cofounder is not the main problem.
