CRT production is a much more complex bit of modern manufacturing than making vinyl LPs.
This youtube video documents what a rather dedicated individual does to resurrect small-scale Nixie tube manufacturing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxL4ElboiuA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxL4ElboiuA And technologically, color CRTs are way beyond that.

- Animats 10y agoRebuilding CRTs is possible at the small shop level.[1] There's still a commercial service that does it. "We are your obsolescence solution."[2] It's not cheap, and most customers are rebuilding tubes for military systems that still use CRTs. This is likely to be too expensive for video game restoration. - throwawayish 10y agoThere are also a handful of "rejuvenation" processes. For example: - Filament-cathode shorts can be burned out (by discharging a capacitor across the short) - Cathode poisoning can be reversed (e.g. http://www.ke5fx.com/crt.html http://www.ke5fx.com/crt.html )
