I agree your comment was unduly downvoted—the article mentions Trump, so I don't think your mention was unreasonble given the context. It's an otherwise interesting comment. That said, any time people complain about downvotes, it simply begets more downvotes. Best to just wait it out in the future; downvoted comments which are substantive—especially in a new thread—have a very high probability of being upvoted again. It's usually a non-issue.
