If you're selling $5 bills for $2, funded by venture capital, are you really disrupting the dollar bill industry?
I mean, you are, in the dictionary sense of disrupting - you're messing it up. But in the Silicon Valley sense, this disruption is going to last right until the money runs out and then disappear without a trace. Uber will be a cautionary tale along the lines of Kozmo or Pets.com.
- ramy_d 10y agotaxis have apps now. Payments are handled before I step in the car. Common destinations are saved. ETAs are live. The entire Uber experience is now the defacto experience. Yeah I'd call that disrupted. If they don't survive it IDGAF.
