I can't help but feel you are asking for a result and everyone is describing a process - which is fine and is very likely to lead to the result, but if the issue you are facing is not knowing when to stop a particular process, then the advice here isn't going to help much either. Do you mind sharing what is the result you are after? Edit: I don't mean you will completely stop a process, but rather some kind of checkpoint to measure your progress.
