What is the point of the question? Gather workplace horror stories? What for?
- cylinder 10y agoAnd why would we not want to name the company? That doesn't make any sense.
- Jaruzel 10y agoBecause maybe it shows people who are suffering that they are not alone, and that it is ok to speak up about it and to do something about it. Workplace harassment in any form is bullying, and needs to be stamped out.
- orless 10y agoAnonymous complaints in a HN thread started on premise of "I'm curious" is not what I'd call "do something about it" and "stamped out".
- pyrale 10y agoBuilding awareness ? Sharing experience with others, realize that what you're going through didn't work for others, or is not commonly viewed as acceptable. Humans have very strong abilities to build justifications for what they are going through, in an effort to cope with bad things. However, sometimes, acceptance is detrimental. Sharing such stories and discussing with people out of the company is an efficient way to prevent toxic cultures from emerging or continuing.
