The Fourth Estate is doing its job. Whatever the truth is, the pressure from respected institutions like the Washington Post and New York Times will be a big part of why we eventually find it. I am proud that the press is holding the government accountable.
- rootusrootus 10y agoThis is why I finally decided to subscribe to the NY Times. We should support real journalism, for it is in jeopardy now.
- gordon_freeman 10y agoAnd this is the reason why I finally canceled the WSJ subscription. BTW, just want to applaud to NYTimes and Washington Post for the great job they have been doing under such pressure from Trump.
- Mrandom 10y agoFunny you would cancel WSJ for NYT. Have you compared their opinion page? NYT's sounds like college kids. Have you seen NYT's latest online ads? "Truth needs your support. Just $1 a week." So cheesy.
- owebmaster 10y agoFinally! Just after decades of support, NYT doesn't like current administration. Real journalism would be NYT asking to revoke Obama's Nobel prize. Did I miss this masterpiece?
- bryanlarsen 10y agoA quick Google shows plenty of criticism of the Obama Nobel prize in the NYT. Much of it is from 2015, but there's some from 2009 as well: https://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/09/obama-and-the-nobel-peace-prize/ https://kristof.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/09/obama-and-the-n...
- ameister14 10y agoIt's great that this is finally happening, I just wish it happened a few years ago. But hey, I'll take what I can get.
- dogma1138 10y agoAccountable to what? what is the big deal or any with this "incident"?
- WalterSear 10y agoThe guy who wants to be the country's top lawyer was caught perjuring himself in front of congress. Republicans in congress can't ignore this without significant loss of face with their constituents.
