tl;dr is that Amazon can deliver a better experience because they actually know exactly what they have in their own warehouses. Often times on Instacart you order something and it gets replaced with something else because it was out of stock, because they work with other stores like Safeway, Whole Foods. Also everyone already has a relationship with Amazon so it's just easier to go that route.
