  That data is just wrong, and not what people get paid in major IT players, which are more likely to get these projects. The empirical formula for a new hire is $3000 * years of Experience. The median starting Salary is $4500 ~ $5000, and the salary usually caps out at $25000, and people above that payscale are usually considered architects.
