A "big win-win" for who though? Health care insurance companies are probably among the biggest beneficiaries of the current system and contribute large sums to both parties to ensure it's continued existence.
- AnimalMuppet 10y agoA win-win for almost everyone. The current situation is that medical offices have to employ people to try to get insurance companies to pay them, and insurance companies employ people to try to avoid paying medical offices. This adds up to something like two people per doctor. Viewed from the perspective of the economy (or even the medical system) as a whole, those two people add no value whatsoever. All they do is work against each other, and collect paychecks. Eliminating them would be a major win for everyone except themselves (and perhaps the insurance companies as a whole).
- chadgeidel 10y agoOh, I agree completely. I just think the incentives for the politicians aren't properly aligned.
- AnimalMuppet 10y agoAh, I see. A big win for everyone except the insurance companies and the politicians they contribute to. And the problem is going to be solved politically. So, not likely to reach an optimal (for the vast majority of us) solution, then.
