Offtopic, but the site is super annoying - auto playing video, and even when you pause it, it restarts automatically on scroll. Shouldn't fortune.com know better?
- HNLogInShit 10y agoThis bullshit is a growing problem on sites all over the Web. They deliberately disturb coworkers, wake companions, and otherwise grossly disrespect their readers. COMPLAIN using any feedback mechanism available. Google, which has decided to "punish" certain types of sites, should drastically demote any that use this offensive garbage. But then, Google perpetrates hypocrisy all the time. They announced that they'd punish non-moble-friendly sites, and yet their own mobile pages DISABLE ZOOMING on mobile browsers. WTF? They deliberately disable a crucial browser feature that has been standard for almost a decade.
- prefect42 10y agoFortune.com does "know better", it's all about Ad revenue.
- ezekg 10y agoI now read most articles in Brave[0] because of this. [0]: https://brave.com https://brave.com
- joshka 10y agoInteresting. I just tried brave against this link (with a few reloads) and it said it blocked 22-24 ads / trackers. UBlock Origin on Chrome blocked 44-50.
- ezekg 10y agoInteresting. I use uBlock Origin for Chrome on my iMac, but most browsing I do is on my iPad, so having Brave ready to go with its ad blocker is a must some days.
