Piggybacking the complex codebase argument: Ethereum's scripting is Turing complete, unlike Bitcoin's. To some this is a feature, to others this opens the door to unacceptable risk.
- blueprint 10y agoWell at least Eth lets us write in a variant of JS. JS is amazing. Basically impossible to write buggy code in it.

- mbrock 10y agoSolidity is not a "variant of JS".
- DennisP 10y agoIt's a variant of JS in that it uses curly brace syntax, but that's pretty much all it has in common with JS. It's statically typed, class-based, and all numbers are integers.
