This is a little off topic, but has XCode really gotten that much better? When I was using it back in 2013 it was, by far, the worst IDE I had ever used. Less functional than eclipse with the same ability to consume all my ram. It also crashed constantly and randomly.
- CreepGin 10y agoMy mileage was different. I started using XCode in 2010 and thought it was one of the better IDEs for the Mac. Spent a week watching WWDC videos in that summer and never had any major problem with XCode thereafter. And yes, it got a lot better year after year too. Everyone's experiences vary I guess. I personally don't like most of the heavy IDEs for Java.
- cableshaft 10y agoXCode got better, then with XCode 8 it suddenly got a lot worse, at least as far as crashing and speed was concerned. I think it's gotten a little better again with the most recent version, or at least I haven't noticed as many problems.
