No thought your digital visibility helps to get through a job interview.. but it's hard to generalize.. if you get the job, your past disappears pretty fast and all that matters is the current sprint. I've building a team of about 70 sw engineers and one of my best hires was an art student who learned code a few years earlier and the other had just finished his graduation. Both are not really what one would consider as social skilled. If you give people a chance, a challenge, a good environment and respect them.. they will surprise you.
