"If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago and a racist today."
Thomas Sowell
- kenjackson 10y agoThat doesn't make any sense. Racists inherently judge with a different standard.
- philsnow 10y agoI'm not familiar with either the quote or the person quoted, but I'm guessing it's an assertion that people who believe > that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards don't buy into affirmative action, and are labeled as racists by people who do.
- Chris2048 10y agoMaybe, but more likely concepts like "it's not possible (or important) for a black american to be racist", or "when a white person makes fun of a black, they are racist, when a black person makes fun of a while they are being ironic".
- Chris2048 10y agoDifferent to what? Racists hold people of different races to different standards, and so do the people who call others racist for refusing to do this.
