For anyone looking, another note-taking app is http://onemodel.org http://onemodel.org. (I'm the author). It starts from a different conception of the nature of atomic knowledge. Details at the web site. Text-only, no mobile support (yet?), bit of a pain to install, but the most efficient I've ever known of and easy to use (I hope). Uses postgresql as the back end. I'd consider hosting the db for users, with discussion.
