Just to add, JavaScript is not the slow and hard to use anymore. With V8 engine JavaScript can be order of magnitude faster than Ruby, python(almost as fast as java in most cases). With ES6(ES2015) features it becomes pleasure to use.
It should get more attention as a Ruby/python alternative.
- techdragon 10y agoJavaScript does not need any more attention drawn to it. Regardless of its merits as a language and how much developer time it has swallowed, it remains the only language in the browser and therefore is forced into the hands of most developers. Saying JavaScript needs more attention is like saying the level of nitrogen in the Earth's atmosphere needs more attention paid to it.
