Excel has supported 1M rows since Version 12 (Excel 2007). The binary format (XLS) doesn't support more than 64k rows, but XLSX works just fine.

  I haven't tried loading this particular file into Excel myself. Is it working ok for you?

  In addition, Excel's data model is potentially infinite and limited only by your machine's hardware.
