Sure, more time to do things we enjoy sounds great. But do you really think the average person will be given access to greater financial resources to pursue those things? If there ends up being a universal income, what kind of life do you think it would buy?
Seems more likely that a government heavily influenced by corporate interests would enact laws that further widen the economic gap. That a life on universal income would be more similar to a life on public assistance today, than to a utopia where unemployed truck drivers are free to make art as a way to find purpose.
I don't doubt the life you describe is possible. But I fear that is not the path we are on, and unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a way to change that.
