- tossaway1 10y agoSeriously, I feel like you could just as easily write an article comparing drug lords to poorly run companies -- like not betting your life and that of your family on a hugely risky venture. Don't nearly all drug lords flame out in a pretty short amount of time...?
- tr1ck5t3r 10y agoSoftware is like a drug, once you are hooked using it, you rarely switch. Its what you become comfortable with, like your local food grocerys store, you know the layout you can get in and out quickly for odd bits, but don't waste your time hunting high and low when doing a big shop. Also why grocery stores have similar layouts. In the case of businesses on Windows, theres enough change in the versions of Windows to justify the upgrade, (think NT4-Server2008/W7), without enough costs in retraining employees to warrant the business customer looking elsewhere. Yet if you look at W10, apart from the GUI differences, theres little change under the hood when comparing with W7. Now you can also make your business successful, if you can lobby Govt's to change laws, Big Pharma, Food Industry, Alcohol all do this and the Alcohol industry is a good example when looking at the costs to society. You have a drug which takes 14days for the metabolites to breakdown in the Liver, scientist rate it more harmful than other drugs, yet its still legal and other less harmful drugs are not legal. If you want proof your Govt is not working in your best interests, this is just one example. Yet the drug lords don't organise themselves enough, they don't set up lobby organisations, they don't engage in educating people through media adverts, because most are little more than small holding farmers, producing their warez, just like a lot of little software or internet companies. If they got together to form a cartel, a co-operative or industry body, you get the strength in numbers which anyone who has added their name to a cause knows, there's strength in numbers.
