When slashdot died, I had nowhere else to turn for a long time and wandered aimlessly for intellectual stimulation. Eventually, Boing Boing linked to an article here and I suddenly found the collective hive of wisdom I needed. HN is like having a million smart people finding cool stuff that I know I will like. I want a diversity of topics that are tech related, but not specifically tech focused. I've learned more about business management, philosophy, medicine, and human life than any other source. And when there is a call to arms, people are willing to step up and make a difference. The comments aren't trollish. I love this place. Don't screw it up
