- smonff 10y agoCan you modify Max?
- pjmlp 10y agoDoes it matter at all when one doesn't want to?
- smonff 10y agoThis is a thread about a Free / Open Source operating system announcement. Why Cubase, Live and Max are even mentioned here? The problem for me is not superior VS inferior or impressive VS unimpressive software but free software VS closed software.

The problem for most people is good and inferior, or "getting my work done with this" and "this is lacking". Free vs closed doesn't even come second to most people's concerns, and I'm not even sure it should.
- bostand 10y agoFunny thing... My main problem has recently been "why can't I open these songs anymore" vs "can still edit old productions anywhere, any OS, no need for intrusive DRM that takes over my entire laptop just because Steinberg"
- thirdsun 10y agoDo you know Max? It's basically a toolkit for building audio, video and other applications/plugins. Creating and modifying is its main purpose. https://cycling74.com/products/max/ https://cycling74.com/products/max/
