Am I the only one who see this call as deeply misplaced? The Geneva conventions were written and accepted by governments. Those governments where acting on the behalf of their people and had (some kind of) legitimacy. Further more, they were acting with a goal of universal humanity and common interest. This call is Microsoft asking for global legislation for protecting itself and other tech companies, which have no legitimacy whatsoever to represent the common interest.
